Just what I was looking for.

Ordered this as a new range bag. Works great. As for multi day sustainment a little small 24 maybe. Would like to see heavier Molle webbing on the inside. Overall great pack for what I needed it for.

    Two year later

I have used this for two deployments, multiple trips, and as a daily backpack. The good stuff: No seams have come apart, and zippers still work great. Having a handle on the bottom helps a lot when the pack is fully open. It fits a soft armor IIIA in the internal frame slot easily. Some issues or observations: Internal molle webbing isn't that useful because it cuts down on internal volume. I mostly use it for pens and markers. Maybe replace with Velcro? Overall, quality is superb. Makes a great pack for everyday use, and I hope SKD keeps developing great quality gear.

    Almost there...

Great pack, construction and lay out wise. Very disappointed that there isn't a frame sheet yet and that it doesn't come with a sternum strap. Rides nicely on the back, straps may be a little too padded for plate carrier or heavy jacket use. Kinda start cutting circulation off after a while but can be mitigated by lowering pack.

Decent pack, not as big as it looks

This is a decent day pack, I would definitely not call it a 40 hour pack. It's smaller than it looked in the pictures and even the reviews. What space it has comes from its thickness (off your back) rather than tallness. The molle inside is made out of binding tape, so I'm not comfortable putting any kind of pouch on there. Actually ended up returning it and ordering an ATS RAID II with a much better track record for basically the same price.

Great pack that fits everything I need

First off, I really like the styling and smaller detail points on this pack. It's really comfortable on the back and the side straps do a good job of getting weight closer to your back. this helps a lot on reducing fatigue on longer hikes. There is plenty of storage space, which was one of my initial worries and had me on the fence. Compared to other packs in the same price range, I'm really impressed with the construction and sewing on this thing. If I were to be nitpicky, I really wish there was a padded laptop area so that I could use this pack for double-duty on weekend work trips. Comparatively, this has about the same carry capacity (maybe more?) of the GoRuck GR1, but it's way more comfortable than my GR1.

    PIG 40 Hour Pack--Get Some!

Posted by KG on 8th Oct 2015

I've held off for a very long time on getting the "perfect pack"--given I've been using many of my climbing and back-country packs. This PIG the best. I've got all the functionality with specific features for shooting--but the comfort of serious climbing from major brand packs--so I'd rock with this anytime. And totally ready to take out commies or skinnies--happy to work on both! And with this pack--I'll have everything I need to keep on thinning the herd, so to speak...
